Has anyone been told that they have ctDNA in their bloodstream?

Has anyone been told that they have ctdna in their bloodstream after doing a liquid biopsy? If so, what did your oncologist say about it?

Waiting on any results is a VERY challenging time. When do you expect to have results? It takes about a month.

I got mine last week and it was negative as well. 😊 My dr is waiting to see if insurance will cover it before ordering another test.
I was positive on Guardant in March. I’m assuming that it would be from the same tumors that were removed.

Such good news!

How is doc comporting with this result following Guardant report? Are there more prominent or better vetted reliability factors in Signatera?

It seems impossible to find out how insurance is covering this. Nobody seems to know!

So happy for your result! One more proactive tool in our toolbox!

You write tumorS… so you were multi foci. How did doc decide what to send Signatera. My understanding is that they only process one per client. Kind of not entirely helpful IMO.

Yes, I had two with dcis attached to one of them. The largest was 1.4 cm. I was stage 1A and had a bilateral. I asked about a pet scan and my oncologist said he doesn't like to do any unnecessary scanning but offered to do Guardant. I tested positive on it so he then decided to do Signatera and that came back negative. The sent the surgical tissues to Signatera and Guardant is a blood test only.

Thank you so much. Signatera uses your tissues to look for that specific dna in your bloodstream from what I understood. You can call either company to get more information and even request to speak with the genomic counselor. Guardant 855-698-8887 and Signatera is 650-489-9050. Guardant takes 2-3 weeks and Signatera takes about 5 weeks, the first time but I think only a couple of weeks after that.

I see. I had never heard of Guardant … so it’s a blood test. Yes, my surgical tissue was sent to Signatera along with a blood draw. Once they do the initial analysis ( DNA of surgical tissue) they only need to draw blood to screen for any circulating DNA ( hoping NEVER) so it’s a much quicker result.

So far so good for each of us! 🌸🌸

Yes! Continued good news for us both. 🙏🏻🌹 Yes, Guardant is a blood test. I will tell you this that I got a second opinion after testing positive on Guardant and was told that she would have never ordered that test on me, with me being stage 1A. She said it is used mainly on metastatic patients.

Thanks so much for sharing- I am hopeful in the technology behind liquid biopsies. May I ask what health center you are located. I'm being treated at Dana Farber for ILD, Stage 1 (1.8cm, ER positive, HER2 negative). I finished radiation and have been on Letrozole for four months. My onco feels scans before 1 year post radiation are not helpful and this makes me very anxious. I asked about blood work and again she doesn't feel helpful. I'm going to ask about Guardant test. Thanks again for sharing!

One last question please - since my lumpetomy was in Nov 2022, how does Signatera work in terms of retrieving original tissue?

The pathology lab should still have it. They will request your tissues from them.
