Shingrix and peripheral neuropathy

The only thing I was told by the pharmacist was that I would have a sore arm which would go away in a few days. I was told nothing else. I contacted the fda and the person I talked to said that the list of adverse side effects was inside the box that the the Shingrix vile was in. I was told absolutely nothing about worst case side effects. My Dr at the time did not divulge this information either. A list of ALL possible adverse reactions should be given to the person getting the vaccine, before hand. People should have to read it and sign that they understand. The list of all the adverse reactions should be given to them before the vaccination. Not after. I had to google search it because I put 2 and 2 together when my neuropathy started within days of receiving my 2nd Shingrix vaccine. If I had been warned in advance, I would NOT have gotten the Shingrix vaccine.

Well my Dr didn’t warn me either but even if he had said neuropathy was a side effect I would not have known what it was anyway.
My life changed forever after my first shingles vaccination and I not only learnt what neuropathy was but small fibre neuropathy which I’m stuck with forever…
If only we knew it was going to have such huge effects on our health…
I was a healthy active 66 year old who bush walked for miles now I have a job to walk across the road…

My response is true - I was told more possibilities than you and I read the same in the insert. Please don't call me a liar. I live in Canada, I have had an adverse event which public health and pharm company is aware of. My doctor also told me (after the event) that these adverse events are possible. In Canada you get the shot from the pharmacist, who divulges the possible side effects through consent before you get the vaccine. I reported the adverse event to the pharmacist and my doctor who reported to public health and then to pharmacist. Sorry - U.S. is different than Canada it appears and you should be careful to not throw barbs based on your own experience. Just disclose your experience which is what I did
