I didn’t take paxlovid and I always think that is the reason I got long COVID.

I took Paxlovid when I got Covid a second time. No side effects and I recovered from Covid quickly with no serious symptoms. It wasn't available the first time I had Covid and I either developed long Covid or Fibromyalgia shortly after.

I got infected with covid last November and I was given Paxlovid on the second day, they only allowed me to take them for 5 days because they weren’t fully approved at the time but I know they’re fully approved now. I started covid with a dry cough for one day and felt weak and dizzy, after my second dose of Paxlovid I started improving immediately but sadly I relapsed after I finished the five days. I wasn’t offered anything else and I had symptoms that didn’t have much available to help me.. I suffered a lot from hot flashes, palpitations and shaking. I just went through the course and waited to test negative which happened after two weeks…my symptoms come and go, and the intensity was getting better.. I mentioned once before that I increased vitamin D and really felt some more improvement. I read that many people who have or had covid were low in vitamin D so I thought why not increase my dose and I did feel better, of course I am assuming it was the vitamin D but my improvement came after starting them.

I was not prescribed any medication when I first got Covid in January 2022. I had Covid a second time in December 2022 and my ENT prescribed Paxlovid. I was feeling better within 36 hours of starting the Paxlovid. I did not have any rebound issues.

I was in the middle of chemotherapy for myeloma this January 2023 when I got COVID for the second time. (First time was August 2022, and it was ten days - without Paxlovid- of testing positive and being very sick. I was diagnosed with myeloma two months later). When I got covid again in January, I was quite scared-I felt weak, and had to cease chemo for a month due to being sick with Covid- and, I had heard about rebound from Paxlovid from two friends so was quite worried. (Both those friends were musicians who were working with lots of people in close quarters, and around a lot of breath being expelled!).I took the Paxlovid for the prescribed five days, one morning, one night, starting after two days of testing positive. It did leave a terrible taste in the mouth as some report- but that went away when I was done with the five day treatment. And, I tested clear after Six days of testing positive, so it shortened my illness miraculously. There also was no rebound. And when I mentioned rebound worried to the RN who prescribed the Paxlovid, he said he had heard no patients say they'd had rebound. And he is at a very busy NY hospital. I don't know if that was "a line", but it was true in my case, and I would definitely take Paxlovid again.

If you can you should( see my longer comment re.my own experience). Good luck.
