Has anyone been told that they have ctDNA in their bloodstream?

Has anyone been told that they have ctdna in their bloodstream after doing a liquid biopsy? If so, what did your oncologist say about it?

Has anyone been told that they have MRD-ctdna in their bloodstream after having the Guardant 360 test? Also, has anyone had the Signatera liquid biopsy? If so, have you had a recurrence?

This is very new technology. Circulating Tumor DNA in the blood, is one way to learn about, track, and target solid cancers in the body. I would expect this technology to expand over time.
What did your doctor tell you about this?

I tested positive with the Guardant test so he did the Signatera as it can tell the values and Guardant cannot. I am still waiting on those results. He says that it increases the chance of recurrence. I was stage 1A, started on Letrozole a week after the Guardant test.

I decided to take the step of getting a “liquid biopsy” as a possible early sign of any recurrence. My oncologist submitted tissue from a sentinel node ( I guess the most likely to have gotten away) although 5 nodes above were clean. I am awaiting results from Signatera analysis. It’s a hard wait. It will take a month.

Question is: what would next steps be?

My nodes were clean as well. How long ago did you have your surgery? I had a bilateral in January but the margins were unclear so I had an additional surgery in March, all clear there. They tested me for Guardant before I started on Letrozole. I did not need chemo nor radiation.

I had unilateral mastectomy Feb. 22. Favorable ONCOTYPE no chemo. I declined radiation although breast surgeon did not feel it to be necessary, still a protocol in RAD/ONCO world. I declined based on my BC profile which would have permitted me to enter the TAILOR RT trial ( now ongoing) which may likely shift Radiation protocols ( let’s hope) one arm of trial was AI only for min 5 years. I’m on Anastrozole 12 months… tolerating well… had 6 no. Mammo and 1 year MRI.. both clear ( although mammo never picked up my BC but MRI did Jan 22.

I did have 2 affected sentinel nodes unfortunately but the next 5 up the line were all clear.

Hoping Signatera will be one more opportunity to monitor my health.

Best wishes for ALL OF US on this unwanted journey. 🌸

Yes. I was negative on first draw. I believe my onco will be sending a blood sample every 6 mos.

Waiting on any results is a VERY challenging time. When do you expect to have results? It takes about a month.
