Neuropathy Relief Centers: Is the price worth it?

Posted by gm123 @gm123, May 31, 2023

I've been suffering from peripheral neuropathy for the past 5 years. Started in the toes of my right foot and has been steadily rising up to my thigh. The numbness, tingling and burning sensations have been driving me crazy. And now my balance is getting so bad I'm careful not to fall over. Even driving is becoming difficult as I can barely feel the foot pedals. All doctors have told me that there is no cure and that it will just get worse with age. They prescribed Gabapentin and my neurologist suggested spinal injections which I do not wish to pursue. 1'll soon be 75.
Now I've recently come across a Neuropathy and Chronic Pain Center in Connecticut which claims an 80% success rate with their patients. They use SANEXAS and other electrical stimulation devices. However they do not accept insurance and patients have to pay in advance out of pocket. The price tag is hefty: over $6,000 for 16 sessions. Does this sound outrageous or reasonable? Any opinions would be welcomed!

For me, the cost is untouchable.

First things first, I wish you relief from the horrors of neuropathy. I too suffer. SENAXAS didn't work for me. I tried it a few years ago and if I'm not mistaken, it either was covered or I paid a small amount out of pocket. The issue here is that we are desperate for a solution to our pain. We are a group that are preyed upon by "medical" people with false promises. In 2015, I tried stem cell therapy, and it was as if I flushed $10,000 down the toilet. We are bombarded with "solutions" that don't work and are expensive. Because of this, I tried to get the Mayo Clinic to allow me to participate in a clinical trial, but Mayo did not accept me for whatever reason. We are targets of scams!!!!!! Please be careful and I pray, not prey for you.

Hi,
This is the first time that I heard from anyone in the Lehigh Valley! I have PN, and have
asked several other Specialists if there was anyone here qualified to help with PN?
The answer is NO. Out of Desperation I still tried two Neurologists. They said they knew, but they do not.
This group is very helpful!
We should talk.

My experience with Sanexus for my feet after 30 treatments was that it was a complete waste of time and money.
I had had my neuropath for about 10 years. Perhaps it works better for someone whose neuropathy symptoms are more recent. I also tried Calmare treatments. Same outcome. I would consult studies from reliable sources to see what they reveal in terms of positive outcomes.

Thank you so much for sharing, that information has been very helpful for those of us interested and wondering if it would be worth the time and investment. Have a beautiful and blessed week, and thank you again.

Thank goodness someone from the Lehigh Valley!!!! I have NON-DIABETIC PN. (idiopathic) The pain is so severe that there are days I do not want to live anymore. I hardly get any sleep at all.
I have been through physical therapy with no luck. I do have a tens unit which I was taught to use by a PT therapist that helps a bit. I will increase the time a bit to see if that helps. I am now 82 years old and my life is a mess. NO quality at all. Besides that, I have age degenerative torn meniscus in my knee with osteoarthritis. I am not a candidate for surgery for two reasons. I do not have bone on bone in my knee and they do not operate on age-related tears. So please is anyone having any success with their
Neuropathy in the Lehigh Valley?

Of course, everyone is different! I have to start with that. I am going to try to talk about our similarities. I've had foot pain since my forties.
I thought to myself, " I have to work". .. my job was in "outside sales" with a bunch of guys wearing the comfortable big flat shoes. I had lots of foot pain playing "catch up", my two steps to their one. I did the best I could with it.... including no shoes with more than 1&1/2 inch heel. That was when I was in my 40's.
I am now 88. In 2016 I complained to a Dr. about other much worse pain. I have severe Idiopathic PN. He gave me the name of another doctor.
That Doctor diagnosed me, and gave me a script for Cannibus. Wow!! That has worked for me!!
It changed my life.
Absolutely NO HIGH feeling, (and NO heels,) but...
it takes about half the horrible nerve pain away! I tried for a long while to find the correct strength of CBD medication & I take it orally!
No smoking, no vaping for me!
This is not a recreational medication, just a pain killer. It helps, it works for me, the pain is LESS!
Best of luck, I hope you find what is right for YOU for pain relief.

I have been cleared to take cannabis. The only thing is the doctor did not prescribe a dose and told me to talk to a pharmacist at the dispensary here in Pennsylvania. So that's what I will do. I just heard that it's very, very expensive by the time you get the dose you really need. Here in Pennsylvania I was given a card that proves I am a patient for cannabis. Is that what you have?

I’m with Victoria iris . Forget all the other garbage I’ve done it all sorry to high- Jack your discussion but for the pain , tingling, numbness , water trickling feeling down the legs and back , I also feel like I have a ice pack on my spine butt, quads, hamstrings and the tip of my spinal cord . Medical CBD/ THC has helped tremendously there is different strains I forget exactly but some will make you want to eat and others will give you energy and reduce pain that’s where I’m at
and of course I also have Norvac because of the Chronic pain and Gabapentin. I I’ve tried …, Spinal cord stimulator, shots in the beginning… laser therapy . I’m
Wheelchair driven and as some have said no feeling in the legs I drive but with hand controls and I have a Harmer Wheelchair electric
ramp on my truck to haul my wheelchair. For those that don’t know try your local government for help with your disabilities they all have a non- profit organization every state should have one for help in your home , vehicles, bathroom etc . To help you get around at no cost hope this helps
what works for one might not work for all we our all wired differently but anything Is worth a try as long as it’s not hindering me and my docs approval .. take care of yourselves folks we only have one body we can either lay down and die or get up and live I choose to rock on know matter what let’s get moving together water has helped me get moving it’s crazy gravity takes over I feel like I’m normal legs don’t work but my hips do
if you bo feeling and you think there isn’t any exercise for you the pool is it trust me works all the muscles . Let’s get out and live god bless everyone 🙏🏻 Sorry for such a long post

I too have had good luck with CBD, mainly the balm that I rub into my feet. I also do gummies to help fall asleep. I am in California and have not trouble but it is pricey.
