Gastroparesis and EPI related?

Unintentionally lost about 80 lbs without trying. No real symptoms except lack of hunger. Now, within the past few months, I have been diagnosed with EPI, then with gastroparesis. Is it considered common to have both of these, or do I just have bad luck? I should note that I had gastric bypass over 20 yrs ago, and do not vomit with gastroparesis.

EPI has so many different symptoms…
I have never had the gastroparesis symptoms but each person that has it can be very different.
The weight loss is the most common symptom in my opinion. Hopefully someone here can help. Don’t give up!
It’s a frustrating disorder, but I would encourage you to see a registered dietician that is familiar with EPI. Many insurance companies will cover a RD consult if your Gastro Dr prescribes it!
You CAN get better!

Thanks Grannydee!

I am on a Creon assistance program for the EPI. And I think my former RNY bypass may be the reason I do not vomit from gastroparesis, even though I have a severe case. I have consulted with a registered dietician. The recommended diets for the two diseases are very different, so she has been very helpful as far as navigating that. I just can’t figure out how I came down with them both!
