I've run into an issue where MRI was ordered and I never heard back. But I could see my results on the portal at the imaging center. Nothing serious was noted. When I did connect with the doctor he told me it was fine. So in my experience I would say if they didn't contact you then it is more likely that the report will be less serious. Also CT is good for bone, but MRI is preferred to visually evaluate soft tissue including disc pathology. My surgeon always orders MRI first and if bad, then will order CT. Just FYI.
