Thanks for the link! The WW Diabetic setting makes you count fruits and starchy vegetables. Plus other foods that were zero points due to higher carb content. I do get 7 extra daily points. What is also helpful is each food and portion will give you the nutritional value right there so you know exactly what the values are. I’m doing well so far since May 9th when I was diagnosed but still having a problem with the morning fasting bloods. Seeing the Endocrinologist Diabetic NP for the first time on June 27th. Going to pick her brain.

@nonnajanet4 I also want to welcome you to Mayo Clinic Connect. I read through all the comments in this discussion. There are good suggestions here. As Colleen said there are many links and apps available. I do not know them because I’m not very techy. @kamama94 suggested getting information on Somogyi and the Dawn Effect. I have had both of those. You can get information from your provider & treatment recommendations on 6/27 if needed. It is good you have that appointment coming up. Ask about a referral to a nutritionist that specializes in diabetes. There are so many plans that can be customized to your needs. I’ve been diabetic for nearly 50 years. I’ve had blood sugars from 20 - the 500’s and A1Cs in the double digits. It is rough. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Will you post updates and what you find out after your appointment?
