I have been diagnosed with venous insufficiency, and my shins are red. In 2014 I had the great saphenous veins cauterized, and that helped. My ankles looked like I had elephantiasis then. That did help for many years, but now I find wearing compression hose(knee) helps keep my feet from swelling. From what the doctor says, my valves which should push the blood back up, are flapping in the breeze!
John has given you some great links. At this point, I try to address what can be corrected and live with the rest. Sometimes, I'm successful. My best💞

Thanks for the info/ I will be 82 this year-I wear compression sock’s especially when standing for longer periods and walking which I used to love - extremely frustrating and slow
