burning soles of feet

i have neuropathy of the feet and legs. i am okay during the day. when i go to bed around 10-12 i am still feeling okay. waiting to fall asleep after 1/2 to 1 hour my soles start to burn and i can not go to sleep. eventually i fall asleep and when i get up in the morning i have no burning. any ideas how to lessen this issue?

Me too to your post!!! How much Gaba are you taking. I did switch one time to lyrica but it constipates me. It did work but.... back to Gaba.

Twice A-day a 1000 mg

I've had severe pn for over 6 years. It seems that I've tried most of everything here and currently use a hefty dose of gabapentin (18000) and I hate the stuff. It gives me some relief, but as with all things for me, after some time it seems that I need to up the dosage. Some have suggested Vicks and it has eucalyptus oil in it. I've started experimenting with essential oils and it has given me some new modest relief. There are alot of eo's out there that reduce inflammation and improve vasodilation. These are powerful and must be used with caution. I only use them in a cream form and dilute the eo's using one drop with several ounces of olive oil. You can learn much more on the web. Please become self-educated before you start playing with the stuff. It can burn the heck out of your feet. Also I'd stay away from vaporing and consuming. Just my two cents. Steve

Snagydude. Did you say you take 18000 mg of gabapentin daily? I'be been at 3600 for a couple years and it works well sometimes when I put less load on my feet like at nite. I recently started a CBD cream ony feet at nite which works pretty well so I can skip 8 pm Gabba dose of 900. Have you tried CBD or rotating off Gabba to something else then back to Gabba when tolerance comes back down? Just asking. Johnmacc

I have had success with pure peppermint oil. It doesn’t burn and works fast. Hope this is some help!

Hi there. Give Sound therapy on You Tube a try. Look up a video titled Miracle Nerve Regeneration #GV065 by Good Vibes and listen to it for at least 20 minutes to 30 with no headphones. Have your affected body part closer to the speaker so the vibration can be affective. There are many other videos as well just type in nerve damage or PN binaural beats and explore. Take care.

I have started, used for 3 mos, then ceased using LDN; but after awhile gave it a go round again. I noticed no consequence. Maybe I take too many drugs and supplements that obscure any positive or other reactions.

This is exactly the pattern I have, although I also have paresthesia in my lower legs (feels like fizzy water undulating up and down my legs) before the onset of the burning. I’ve recently been diagnosed with length dependent axonal sensory neuropathy after having a nerve conductivity test. I sometimes have a few nights when it isn’t as bad, but when it is, I’ve trying everything to stop the burning and get to sleep. I still take supplements like PEA, ALA, NAC, and use topical creams like magnesium and capsicum cream. I’ve recently been experimenting with compression socks. To fall asleep I’ve tried Kava Kava and cheery juice… I’ve also tried gabapentin and nortryptiline, but don’t tolerate them at all. None of these things have been that helpful and some nights are intolerable. The only thing I’ve found that at least helps me get to sleep - eventually - is ibuprofen and CBD.

Kava kava is linked to severe liver problems. I would not take it. I use 5 percent Lidocaine patches prescribed by my podiatrist to control the nerve pain in my feet at night. I place the patches on the tops of my feet where the skin is thinner to promote absorption. That way, I avoid the systemic exposure to the nerve pain medication. I couldn't tolerate gabapentin or Lyrica. The Lidocaine works better, anyway.

I recently started using a magnesium lotion on my feet and lower legs , recommended by several in here. Life-Flo on Amazon very reasonably priced.
