How long did you take a statin before feeling side effects?

I’ve been on generic Lipitor for 27 years with no side effects. I also take zetia.

Lipitor put me in the hospital for a week with acute pancreatitus back in 2008. Confirmed it was a statin at fault by trying a "natural" cholesterol lowering red yeast rice supplement which immediately caused the severe abdominal pain. NO STATINS FOR ME!!!
Basically any med that targets the pancreas is off limits to me. That includes GLP-1 meds. However, l seem to be tolerating Repatha very well as it targets the liver. I've been on Repatha since my MI back in March.
