@dulwich

My experience with Pall was expensive and unfortunate
I had to change my kitchen faucet to one they said was compatible but then it wasn’t and I had a lot of issues getting it set up. The filters are very expensive and last only a few days with normal use before slowing to a trickle,
Have switched to the Lifestraw pitcher- cheaper and more convenient (also spent several years boiling water)
No recent mentions but the shower clear shower head which can be opened and air dried is much easier than trying to use bleach

dulwich: thanks for that honest appraisal of the Pall.

Can you say more about the shower clear shower head?

Thank you for the heads up. It is always good to hear about experiences with products. We have already spent so much and tried various things. I may end up going with the Life Straw Pitcher, after having read about it.

For now, I am sticking to shallow baths and just holding my head under running water to wash my hair. Not as pleasant or convenient, but quick and free. I will look up the showerhead info. We previously had a showerhead filter that we changed every six months, but we removed that long ago.

I have been using the shower filters for over a year and I have it in all 3 of my homes and have not ever had an issue. I think it depends on if your water has a lot of particulate. It cost about $60.00 a month which is expensive but worth it to me and they last for 62 days. I did not use the kitchen one since it wasn't compatible with my faucet.
