Is chemo or radiation scheduled on the weekends at the Rochester site? How long does it typically take to get set up with chemo if indicated after initial appointment with the Breast Clinic? TIA

Hello @brandysands this is Sheryl Ness, one of the nurse educators at Mayo Clinic Cancer Center. The Breast Clinic team here is fantastic. Once you have your initial consultation, they will work with you to outline your treatment plan. Appointments for both chemo and radiation can be done on the weekend if indicated. Chemotherapy appointments can be arranged within days. Radiation appointments may take a bit longer, as you would need to see a radiation oncologist, create a plan and have your simulation appointment prior to starting actual treatment. I'm not sure when treatment will start. I have an appointment this Thursday
with Dr. Tammi Howard for an initial consult. Based on that, I guess I will
see various people over the course of Thursday and Friday.
This doesn't seem to be a very active discussion group. I am wondering if there are other forums through this website.

Hi Brandy,
You're right the Breast Cancer group isn't very active...yet. We are currently updating the website and re-igniting discussions. You'll see more activity very soon. I hope that you'll be a part of making this happen.
