Should I have knee replacement with neuropathy?

@cls1 Sorry to hear about your unfortunate situation. Both of my knees are bone on bone, I saw the X-rays myself and two different orthopedic surgeons will not do replacement on me because of my occasional trip and fall which, in some cases, I land on my knee(s). All due to sensory motor PN. I get cortisone shots every 90 days which I'm not happy about but with gel every 6 months, I'm getting around and about. I tend to walk more after cortisone shots, get the exercise in when I can. I'm told the knee issues are not causing my neuropathy in my feet but in my opinion, the jury is still out. When my knee pain intensifies, the numbness increases. Hmmm. No connection?? Bottom line, lots of pain between day 60 until 90 until next shot.

I went through the cortisone shots in my knees for years! They don’t work for too long though. I’m surprised they won’t do surgery because of trip and fall. You would think that would be a good reason to do it! I’d it hyperextension that causes you to fall? That’s why I needed the rods- to stop the falling.
