Looking for female companion to accompany me while at Mayo, Rochester
I'm a female and don't require any medical care assistance, but coming in from WI alone for several appointments (meeting with primary care MD first). I know Mayo is a bit overwhelming and looking for emotional support as I'm quite scared between shuttling to the building(s) and ordering and arranging for meals, whether going out to eat or ordering in and providing that company and support.
Maybe even joining me for a movie, etc. I would like this individual to arrive at the hotel in the morning for my appointments. Looking for someone who lives in Rochester so they can return to their own home every evening.

Also, the Staybridge is always my choice. Monday-Wednesday they provide a light meal in the evenings, breakfast, and free laundry. If you like to use a hot tub, pool, or fitness they have that. Shuttle is excellent and depending on your ability, it’s a delightful walk to Mayo buildings.
There are great restaurants nearby, Canadian Honker is our favorite. For lunch, Mayo has a good food service.

Right now I'm so beside myself and frightened because the date is drawing near to go to Mayo and I don't have anyone lined up and I'm in tears thinking I will need to cancel my much-awaited appointment if I don't get this lined up.

1 ReactionI’m working on the contact. I will pray God give you peace in your situation. I was with My husband when he went through that first week at Mayo. I have a hard time imaging doing it alone. It is a big place, but everyone is so helpful- they even have folks to help at the elevators:)

2 Reactions@ljashton - Thank you for bringing me a sense of peace this morning. I pray she can provide the emotional support I need. I recently lost my sister which has been very difficult, and I know she would have been there for me and accompanying me to Mayo.
I just want to go back to feeling like my fabulous self again, enjoying life and being so grateful for all our many blessings. Thanks now to YOU and your friend I can get there 🙂

Also, how do you send a private message? noticed even if I click on "@colleenyoung" it doesn't allow me to send a private message to you?
I also looked the directions to send private messages (see below), but even when I click on YOUR user name, it doesn't bring up a profile page with "send private message." In order to get the important contact info needed from Kyle ASAP , I don't mind providing my email or cell number. If need be, I don't mind if you send him my email and contact info.
Directions:
You can send a private message to another Connect member or group of members.
Click the member's username. This will bring you to the member’s profile page.
Click Send Private Message.
Send PM
Write a subject and your message.
You can add other members to the private message by typing their usernames in Add Recipients.
Click Send Message.
Note: There is a brief period where new members can't send private messages. We do this to deter spammers from spamming community members by private message and to keep the community safe.
