So I posted quite a while back about horrible thigh pain, popping, stiffness etc. I had a THR 5/2018 and I have had problems since 8/2018. Ive used a cane since 2018 and sometimes a walker. I’ve jumped through every hoop imaginable including 2 tendon injections , MRIs, bone scan etc. I’ve had numerous xrays of my hip in the ortho office. The best ortho surgeon in the area who did my surgery sees nothing on any of the imaging studies. Tomorrow morning I am having a hip revision with another surgeon after months and months of waiting to get and appointment and 1 Xray in his office because the bone never bonded to the stem. All this to say get a second opinion after what you believe is a reasonable time to recover from any surgery if you are having continued pain and seem to be worse than before you had the THR. You are not crazy!

Good luck with your revision ! My thoughts and prayers go with you. When you have recuperated, please let us know if (1) surgeon uses a different stem from original and (2) is entire hip being revised or just the stem ? Take good care. I am probably having a revision surgery sometime after August 2019 with a different surgeon. I’ve suffered this “enigmatic thigh pain” for almost two years now. It’s real and it’s awful.

@nise2uss - Wow. I am so glad to hear that you go that 2nd opinion and that you are having a revision. Wishing you the best of luck. Will you keep us posted?
