Hi Teri, thanks for sharing all of these important questions! I seek to educate, not dictate, what people's options are. Much of what I have learned is from Dr. Tieraona Low Dog, MD and presidential appointed member of the US Pharmacopeia. I have studied with her for many years and believe her to be a highly reliable source. I also regularly read research articles, work to determine their validity, and offer new information. I have seen the discussions on strontium (citrate v. ranelate). I have not seen much definitive research, but do understand the difference and the debate. Calcium is another hot topic indeed. With the answer most often being "it depends." Most importantly, to begin with it depends on how much natural calcium one is consuming. And then there is the discussion of whether or not one is getting the appropriate level of "partner nutrients" so that calcium is bioavailable.

I always suggest to people that they must gather facts around these important topics in order to have good discussions with their health care providers, as they are the only people who have enough information about the individual's specific condition and any underlying health concerns, to make specific recommendations. I think we all wish that there was just one answer.

I will be doing an hour long talk on nutrients that matter for bone health day one of the 4 day challenge. I look forward to you being there! -Susan
