I am scheduled for a left total hip replacement in the middle of June. Are there any exercises that I should be doing in order to prepare for the surgery? Also, has anyone had the surgery with the MACO robot and spinal anesthesia? If so, are you awake during the surgery or is an intravenous line placed to give you sedation?

I had left hip replacement surgery on 3/22/24. I went to PT before surgery and he gave me a few isometric-type things to do, but he said it wasn't really necessary to do them as everyone's surgery is different. My surgeon used the MACO robotics machine and I did have a spinal shot. I was NOT awake during surgery but I believe I did have an IV line for sedation. But I informed the anesthesiologist that with my shoulder replacement surgery 4 years ago, in recovery I was dizzy, nauseous, and vomited, so whatever adjustments he did worked out fine for me. I was in recovery for about 90 minutes with NO nausea or vomiting feelings.
