I had THR 2 weeks ago. I too am in good shape and active. PT has been an ongoing blessing where they can challenge me and advise me on some of the issues with my form walking and exercising. I like to be pushed and challenged so this works well for me. I still have pain in various areas but find with exercising and walking the pain decreases.
Hey everyone, update on myself you will all probably find interesting. To recap, 42 yr old male, THR left hip, posterior, 5 months. Have had thigh and groin pain throughout recovery, along with nerve or psoas issues. I finally got a second opinion yesterday from another reputable surgeon. After reviewing my xray he believes that my cup is loose. Also, he is not a fan of my brand of implant which is a Zimmer. He says it has too many moving parts. Having said that, he feels it is best to wait 3 more months and then xray again. He said the longer we can wait, the more the problem will clearly reveal itself, OR, my body could still accept the cup and heal. I'm praying for the latter. My original surgeon gave no opinion about xray and wanted to just wait. I'm glad I got second opinion, I am switching my care to the new doctor. I think our original surgeons are scared to say what may be wrong because it's their work. A second opinion doesn't care, they didn't do it. Good luck everyone, I'll keep updating and looking forward to reading others.
