Be careful of steroids in the hip. I did and I went downhill so fast and so badly that I was virtually crippled until I had my anterior hip replacement - which was over a year. Horrible life for that time; simply horrible.

I had two steroid shots prior to total hip Replacment. You have to wait three months after your last injection before you can have replacment surgery. My understanding is the insurance company requires doctors and patients to try non surgical methods before they will authorize surgery. I went through about a years of pre-surgery treatments, and it was not pleasant. Hope your doing better now. I’ve had both hips replaced, and I can tell you the anterior approach is much easier to recover from than posterior approach.
