I just visited my pcp today and requested to get my thyroid checked. Hopefully all will be okay, the waiting game is really frustrating. Though I'm wondering whether the hysterectomy decreased my estrogen levels, causing anxiety. But both my doc and gyn brushed it off saying my estrogen levels are already low due to being post menopausal. They might be right, but i know that ovaries post menopause still produce a certain amount of estrogen and progesterone, and now it probably went down to nil(?). I just want to know whats causing my anxiety, its been really difficult sleeping at night, i dont want to rely on sleeping pills. Good luck to you too!

OMG, I started with my gyno after the anxiety got so intense. I said look something is wrong with me and I think it’s from the hysterectomy and he’s like, oh no, it couldn’t be the hysterectomy, you’re post menopausal. I still remember leaving his office that day devastated. Then I went to my PCP and I said look you have to help me, something is not right. I’ve never had anxiety like this before. I cannot break it. He took blood and found out my TSH was low. It took so much effort to try to get these doctors to listen. You, at the very least need a full thyroid panel. And I agree on the ovaries making at least a bit of hormone. In fact, I have to take an anti-hormone blocker because I had breast cancer in 2019 and I wanted to stop it after my hysterectomy. My oncologist said to keep taking it, because the adrenals produce estrogen as well. don’t give up you have to be your own advocate. I can’t believe something so small can affect our body in so many ways. Keep us posted.
