No, I had to use a walker for about two weeks. Then it was baby steps for a few days and then I was walking fine. I went back to work after 4 weeks and that's when the pain in my thigh started. I thought at first it was because I was walking more at work than I do at home but it's getting worse instead of better. I had both hips done at the same time, anterior approach. My hips feel great, it's just my thigh. One word of warning, your muscles will hurt worse than the actual joint replacement. It was true when I had my knee replaced, too. I bought a hand held massager and practically lived with it on my legs.
