Did anyone not have symptoms when they found a lobulated mass ?
Hi. I had my first mammogram then called back next day for another one then moved to then next room after the Dr looked at the days again, to perform an ultrasound. My report says : scattered areas of fibroglandar density (B).
Findings BIRADS 4 / 2cm mass right 12 0’clck
Lobulated hypoechoic mass right breast with internal color flow. No shadowing.
Probable dilated ducts low level echoes @ 12 o’clock. 3 cm from nipple. There. Is a 8x3x7 mm ovoid hypoechoic cystic structure at 2 o’clock 5 cm from
Nipple.
Honestly .. (I have biopsy Monday) it’s my first time mammogram- my mom just died from colorectal cancer and aunt sick also breast cancer. Does the numbers sound serous because I have not been explained to about these things and the Dr is out - I like blunt , honesty. Thank you all!!

Every mammogram I’ve had for the last few years required additional images and an ultrasound. Usually ductal cancer is more obvious on imaging as opposed to lobular. Lobular is usually diagnosed at a later stage due to it grows in a line so hard to see. Yeah, the not knowing is so stressful and while you need them to hurry it never seems to happen that way. For me the biopsy wasn’t painful at all and honestly the lumpectomy wasn’t bad either. I call it my shark bite titty.

1 ReactionI’m sorry to hear that. That is a lot of loss in such a short time. I hope you have someone to help you through this. I lost my mom to BC almost 8 years ago but I’m fortunate enough to still have my husband.

2 ReactionsThe wait for an MRI is 7 weeks here so I'm still waiting for that. The biopsy was uncomfortable but I was back at work the next day.

2 ReactionsI had no symptoms. My surgeon was doing a biopsy for DCIS, since my breast density was too think for a needle biopsy, which I had had twice previously. In the DCIS surgery, my surgeon by accident found the lobular carcinoma, and excised it. My lobular carcinoma had not shown up on mammograms and I had no symptoms otherwise. IMPORTANT TO WAIT FOR THE PATHOLOGY REPORT AND FOR YOUR DOCTOR TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU. Don't try to interpret any report yourself.
I stayed in bed with pain meds for one day. I did not have to undergo chemotherapy or radiation. Now, I am on Arimidex and scans for 5 years. I have a special mammo every six months and a breast MRI at the other six month point. I recovered quickly and have had no recurrence.

Have you had a chance to discuss the report with your oncologist yet?
