I would love to sleep like that! I'm lucky to get 5 hours before the pain sets in. I take 900mg at bedtime!

Cher27: I am so sorry that the Gabapentin you take at night doesn’t get you through the night. I wish I could help you…but I will pray for you and hope our Father in Heaven has mercy on you.
PS. I neglected to mention that along with the Gabapentin, I also took .05 mg. of Clonazepam. Maybe you could try that. Both are about as mil as you can get but that is all I need. Perhaps you could discuss it with your Physician and he could prescribe the appropriate dosage for you. Let me know if it works for you.

Master Chief and Cheryl:
Thanks for acknowledging my comments about Gabapentin. I wanted to make sure you saw my second message in which I neglected to mention that along with the 200 mg. Gabapentin, I also took a .05 Clonazepam pill. I don’t know if that added to my 12 hour sleep or not, but I wanted you to know in case you decide to ask your doctor for Clonazepam. It wouldn’t hurt to try both of them at bedtime (higher strength) of both. I am such I light weight when it comes to taking meds. When I had my spinal surgery, they gave me Fentanyl and probably lots of it because it was a five hour surgery and when I woke up, I felt like I was crazy…my room did not look like the same room; the nurses’ voices sounded like they were yelling at me; the patients’ down the hall were laughing at me (or so I thought). I really scared my two daughters who did not know why I was acting like a “looney tune”. It lasted for two days and then I was me, again. My surgeon said it was from the Fentanyl they had given me during the 5 hour surgery. I will never take or allow them to give me Fentanyl again. I was hospitalized again two months ago and ended up having gall bladder surgery and I made sure that the record said that I cannot tolerate fentanyl and the anesthesiologist seemed upset about that but so be it! Now I understand why our precious children are dying from it! It is a very powerful drug. Don’t take it if you do not have to, my friends. In any event, I hope you can find medication that will let you sleep soundly and dream beautiful dreams. God bless!

Regarding your "drop foot" ask your physical therapist to try a "muscle stimulator " on your drop foot. The device will lift your foot up so you can walk almost normally. Good luck. Jack

Thanks Brother My Drop Foot Is Almost Gone. I never had a problem with walking, it was the numbness that bothered me. It All Started with my Gall Bladder Surgery This lasted believe it or not from June 25 of last year till they put a stent in on November of that same year. All that time they had told me That I didn't have a leak Anyway Nice to hear from you

Hi, regarding your comment about gallbladder surgery and the leak, can you explain a bit more about that. I have been having issues ever since my gallbladder was removed 10 years ago now. And I have been diagnosed with SFN in January 🙁

Besides having a stomach problem from it, it also caused me to lose some of the hair on my head

Check out CMT neuropathy. I had had my Gallbladder removed and developed sepsis while in the hospital. One year later I was diagnosed with CMT, a genetic disease which caused numb feet, tingly and weak legs below the knee and from my fingers up my arms and across my shoulder to my neck. I was 74 when recently diagnosed with disabling disease however, became awRe of the burning, itchy feet when about 45. Today, I am clumsy, have difficulty with balance and have weak muscles. I work every day to strengthen the muscles not yet experiencing nerve damage.

After an attack diagnosed as transverse myelitis, then he diagnosis changed to transverse myelopathy attack last February, (hoping for a firm diagnosis after repeat MRI’s next week and then visit with the neurologist June 12) I have had painful spasms in both legs some days and most nights, in addition to right sided tactile numbness from toes to armpit. I take 600 mg gabapentin twice a day and then 1200 mg at bedtime in addition to 10 mg baclofen and another 10 mg baclofen when I wake up at 1 or 2 AM. Gabapentin makes me a little drowsy, only at night, and I have not noticed any other side effects. Additionally I take methocarbinal, but I’m not sure it helps alleviate the spasms or pain.
I wish you all the best for relieving your symptoms!

Pregabalin is a better drug for Neuropathy. I take twice a day 150mg. Gap is a Narcotic the new drug being used for overdosing because easier to get then Oxytocin.

I saw my Neurologist at Mayo Clinic for a consult for my Neuropathy. Very interesting visit!
I was not started on any medication. He did suggest a 4 percent Lidocaine Cream 2x daily on then numb ares. I am not havivg any pain.
He only ordered a special protein assay to be drawn.
That was it.
He felt I didn't needed anymore testing, since most of the tests for PN had already be drawn.
My question is did he do enough.
He said I had long fiber PN, whatever that means.
Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thank you in advance, Pat
