I'll research the Verapamil. I don't have an irregular heart beat, but have severe spikes even on high does of other blood pressure meds. I do believe I have figured out that stress or excitement causes my spikes as high as 215/115, just last week 204/104. I was watching Stranger Things a Nexflix horror series just before bed. I didn't notice my symptoms when watching it but when I lay down to sleep I know my blood pressure is up as I can hear it in both each and on my left side the vein or artery pulses hard in my neck, enough to visually see the beat. Sadly will resign myself to less exciting television or reading which is better than having a stroke. I also get a happy stress when entertaining house-guests which we have frequently. I like everything to be perfect and I know I expect too much from myself.
