A ct scan 3 months ago found an aortic aneurysm measuring 3cm. Not bad except I have a tear in the area and I don’t know the size of the tear. I’m on a blood thinner that concerns me because I bleed easily and I’m worried having that complication.

A hospital I went to transferred me to another hospital for emergency surgery and since it wasn’t bleeding the 2nd hospital team figured I’m stable enough to be discharged but that I would need to see my own cardiovascular surgeon ASAP. They also said I would need to return to their hospital later.

My cardiovascular surgeon was annoyed with me for interrupting his schedule. A so a gram was performed and even though the past he knew about the aneurysm he’s saying he didn’t see anything and hurried out of the exam room.

I said “ could it burst?” and he said “ it could but we have ways to treat that” When? When I’m on the ground after it ruptured while I was jogging? Most people would assume a heart attack and would not be helping me except maybe doing chest compressions.

I would probably die as it’s quick and known to be fatal. Too late to “deal with that”
Two surgeons seen it but he didn’t?? He was in a hurry and said “see you next year “ and hir rude secretary made an appointment for 12 months. Should I get a second opinion or learn to live with it. There is no pain and I would have never known I had it. Am I being paranoid?

your not paranoid. The Drs are busy and its no big deal to them. I see your concern. I have a similar situation. Bottom line is i was told if it goes i will be dead before i hit the ground. On the bright side, no pain or lingering. So, i go about my daily living and hope for the best. Its up to you how to deal with it.
