After Radiation Treatments: What questions to ask at follow-up?

Just finished 37 Radiation Treatments to Prostate Bed. Have an appointment with my Radiation Oncologist this Friday. What questions should I be asking 🤔? Thanks

When will my next psma pet scan be? What are you expecting my psa to be over the next 6 months? And if it rises…then what? Do I need to have any medications prescribed for side effects? What side effects would necessitate me calling you right away?

When will my next psma pet scan be? What are you expecting my psa to be over the next 6 months? And if it rises…then what? Do I need to have any medications prescribed for side effects? What side effects would necessitate me calling you right away?

Good questions. However, there is no need for a PSMA-PET scan as they will rely on your PSA tests to determine if the cancer is still there. They normally wait for 4 months before your next PSA. Hopefully your reading will be undetectable although it will probably be 12 months before you know whether it was the SRT or ADT that killed the cancer.

Good questions. However, there is no need for a PSMA-PET scan as they will rely on your PSA tests to determine if the cancer is still there. They normally wait for 4 months before your next PSA. Hopefully your reading will be undetectable although it will probably be 12 months before you know whether it was the SRT or ADT that killed the cancer.

Never took ADT. Just IMRT
