The question I asked was if demyelination happens in neuropathy.
I have pain that feels like neuropathy (did however now its turned to spasms with burning, tingling and stinging. I also have back and neck problems (polyradiculopathy). However, the new EMG didn’t find the neuropathy the prior EMG found which is confusing me to no end.

I'm not a medical expert but I think demyelination is one of the reasons you feel nerve pain. This might explain and hopefully answer your question.

"A demyelinating disease is any condition that causes damage to the protective covering (myelin sheath) that surrounds nerve fibers in your brain, the nerves leading to the eyes (optic nerves) and spinal cord. When the myelin sheath is damaged, nerve impulses slow or even stop, causing neurological problems."
