TKR
Hi
I may be in the wrong group and if so I'm sorry I had a TKR on 4-4-2022 and I'm doing well I've started PT . I've started having horrible stabbing burning pains in my inner thigh with movement. I'm using ice and elevation and it does help . I'm just hoping it's not something that can't wait until Monday when I see the PT person again .any input would be helpful. Thank you

Thank you for responding. I am keeping positive thoughts and you helped.
I had TKR of right knee 1/2/23. While i was in preop i was ready to get up and hobble away because I had heard o any bad stories. Thankfully I went thru with the surgery and I am now very happy 5 months later.
Do your preop exercises so you are strong after surgery. Then of course do your post op exercises. Of course it hurts when exercising, but it’s not unbearable. You should come thru it well.
I am exactly where you are as far as losing sleep due to the worry of my upcoming TKR in 7 weeks. At times I regret opening the Connect to find negative results of the surgery. I feel somewhat prepared and I start my six week PT on Monday. I am 79 and up until recently due to knee bone on bone I have backed off on my hiking and related exercises. I also have RA and have been on Enbrel for 23 years. Two months ago I had Long Covid and am still suffering with fatigue. Hopefully the PT will help me rebuild my strength to have a successful surgery. I am normally a positive person so I want to believe Maggiegirl1123 will do just fine. Good luck and I will follow your success.
Your message was like a breath of fresh air this morning. As I joined Mayo Connect, I had hoped to find connections and I am tickled with similarities that we share. I am 76, very close to you. Thank you for your encouragement and I will be following your journey as well.
Hello Vgen
Wonderful to read your story. I will think of you when I am looking for an escape route in preop. I am so happy to read a positive story.
I just lost my original message to you. Oh, darn. You sound like a clear head out there who is directing me with your knowledge. I appreciate that. I am doing quite a bit right during preop. I am serious about my exercises. I can do them, but had to modify a little because of pain. I see my surgeon in 2 days and will find out about robotics. I don't know. No one mentioned that. He has superior recommendations. I have met many people who give him praises. I cannot bear to think of any negativity on any part of this. I have all my care handled, including my friend taking my dogs for 3-4 weeks. It's getting close to my surgery and I do a lot of planning. What kind of pillow were you speaking of? Please explain. Thank you. Good luck with your mentoring. We need people like you. Sheryl
Most of the people I know are extremely happy after tkr. Th y have returned to normal lived
I had tkr of my right knee almost two yrs ago. Sadly I never had relief because now I am getting referred pain from my hip, in my knee. I have a lot of arthritis in the hip and now may need a hip replacement. I have heard great things about hip replacement in comparison. I am looking forward to walking without pain. Anyone have both surgeries?
I had TKR Feb. 2 22. 3rd zdr now due to pain in k ee still and leg not straight has me doing a extender to staighten my leg. Is this really going to help after this long? My leg is at -14. And out of thearpy again. I have been thearpied to death. He said my knee is full of scar tissue but no farther surgery needed. My leg is to weak Dr. Says. It may be. Not sure. Any advice?
Yikes, you are getting close maggiegirl1123. Sounds like you are ready to go. I also purchased a leg support pillow from Amazon and an ice machine at the recommendation of my daughter. I started my six week PT yesterday so I guess this is getting serious for my June 6th TKR. Stay positive my friend and keep the faith! judith580
