Has anyone had success getting Covid weight gain back off?? I’m sure it’s due to inflammation & perhaps spike protein issues. What’s the solution? It’s not ‘business as usual’…at least not for me. Low calorie & exercise does not budge the scale!

I’ve been gaining weight for no reason. I hardly have an appetite, and when I do eat, I eat healthy foods with no carbs, and still gaining weight. 😩
I have an upcoming endocrinologist appointment and hopefully they can find out something. I actually have Graves’ disease, but it was in remission and I don’t think I have Graves back because I’m gaining weight instead of losing. I’m pretty sure the thyroid is going in the opposite direction – hypothyroidism. Hopefully they can find what’s going on so I can take some medication so I can get back to normal.. Im getting very impatient and frustrated with all of this… it’s going on 4 months for me with all these Long Covid symptoms. 😖😩😣

I’ve tried ozone therapy and hyperbaric chamber and they have helped. The inflammation is caused by lack of oxygen

I have gained 30 lbs since January when I got covid. Now I have long covid. I’m wondering what helps curb appetite?

Hi cherisnow55. Know how daunting this weight journey can be. I have found eat small low calorie meals every 2 hours helpful and we cant expect to loose weight during this challenging time as before. I have kept 5 lbs off for a month. Victory! Healing journey to you and all🌈

I hear you. My progress has only worsened. More weight gain. More muscle, full body, joint pain. More brain fog and memory issues. EXTREME fatigue. Hand numbness all day long. Has anyone found any treatments, medications, or supplements that work? One thing I’ve noticed is that my bloodwork continuously shows high creatinine kinase. Which indicates muscle damage. The oxygen therapy seems to make a small dent but I am now at the point that my inflammation is so bad that they’re unable to get a blood draw to even do it. I’ve had to retire from my pro athlete career. No amount of dieting is helping. Went vegan for a year and nothing helped. Exercise swells me up. But if I don’t exercise then I’m not exercising. It’s been horrible. Does anyone have any solutions??

I’d like to tell you I’ve been successful, but it would be a lie. Despite trying Weight Watcher’s which has always been my go to in the past the number on the scale won’t budge. I had my daughter try the scale cause I hoped it was broken😵‍💫I was diagnosed with lower extremity lymphedema 2 months after having Covid in September 2022. Even though I’m now controlling the swelling in my feet and legs, the scale won’t move. Tried the Lymphedema diet. No gluten, no sugar, no white rice or potatoes, but no weight loss🤨🤔😞I am sticking with it though cause it’s healthy and it has eliminated the bloating feeling I was having after meals.
Thursday I am going for a consult at UF Integrative Medicine. They have a Post Covid Recovery Group. I’ve been waiting nine months for this appointment. I’m struggling with being out of breath on walking across a parking lot or slight exertion. I had applied to the Mayo Post Covid Recovery Group and got accepted verbally until they told me to bring my positive PCR test results from when I was tested for Covid. I told them I used the free government tests and didn’t use a PCR test, so I was referred to UF. Praying for some answers and suggestions on Thursday. I also have gained weight in the abdominal area which is a first for me. Wondering if there is a test that can determine microclotting. I did have an ultrasound of my legs, which showed lymph fluid , but thank God no clots. I also had an echocardiogram which was normal.
