I was wondering if you could put me in touch with other women that have had the surgery to sew up the bladder looking for all good and bad experiences trying to make up my mind on what to do thank you

Certainly, Pizon. @maxann @Restless67 @badluck and @uschi have all discussed having surgery for uterine or bladder prolapse. I invite them to join this discussion to share their experiences.

Thank you Colleen for your kind response. I have been busy and finally am able to connect up with the community. I especially like Tanglefoots’ altitude and advice. I now have several approaches that I’m going to try - the hideaway support garment , Vitamin E to moisturize the cystocle, and I have an appointment scheduled about a pessary.Thank heavens for Mayo Clinic Connect.

Hi there.....I'm Annie. I have an embarrassing problem with having to wear either feminine pads or bladder control pads. I have mentioned that to my doctor and she told me to do kegels for a while but they don't seem to be doing the trick. I had mentioned that to me oldest sister and she said I might have to have my bladder pulled up. Is that very big of a procedure? I am 52 year old female (11/18/64). Thanks!!

The surgery for prolapse has a very high failure rate. Many Drs, want to use mesh and their are women paralyzed and in chronic pain because of it. Many women have more issues after surgery than before. Please insist to be referred to a pelvic floor specialist for physical therapy. Many do the kegels improperly and p/t can help so much, even if you eventually decide on some surgical intervention. Please search "Bladder Prolapse" on facebook groups. You are not alone!

Hello and thank you for your updated info. if I could ask you a question...you say that the surgery for prolapse usually fails can you tell me what type of surgery? My Dr. is not wanting to use mesh he is going to sew up and sew the ligaments do you know of any statistics on this type of surgery? My physical therapist agrees with my Dr. on the success rate with out the mesh and recommends the surgery if I feel that the prolapse is to life altering I am much better since the p/t and the pelvic floor muscle spasms are now at a dull roar but I still am trying to live with it ...thank you again

hi I have looked at the facebook site Bladder Prolapse and am not able to find any reviews on surgery without mesh any other suggestions? thanks'
