Anyone have a positive Cologuard test?
My test results came back positive. I asked what did it show, because they test for 11 different cancers or categories. They said, it just states either negative or positive for cancer. I had problems a few years back and did a colonoscopy, which came back ok. Now this!! I'm reading theres a 13 percent chance of false positive. Right now I'm extremely distraught about having to go through all Consults, tests, and dreaded preps. Orders are in for Consult with gastro, but they're booked out through January or February in Mayo. I have not received any notice for appointment yet. Dont know what to think or do.

dazlin, mine also came back positive-- I am 82 and now mayo says I have to
have a colonoscopy, I heard it is very dangerous when your my age, why can't they
just give a CT scan, they would show something. if that shows something then have the
other, I was going to ask my doctor, I am to have it next month.
Does anyone have a feedback on my problem? I just finished radiation for breast cancer,
I have had problems with my bowels for years. but Cologuard saw blood.
Did Colorguard actually say blood?
carol322605----I guess one of the words in it means blood, there was a few words I did not
no, was going to look them up, but they called me and told me. It did not say blood
but the wording I guess told them.

I had a cologuard done on me which came out negative. Shortly after i visited my primary who said they were unreliable so she ordered a colonoscopy, which showed several polyps ( precursors to cancer). Better to be safe than sorry!
My paper work just said abnormal.
After a colonoscopy found a polyp. Not cancer. Repeat colonoscopy in 6 months because of location of polyp.
Marcia, I had a positive Cologuard and was absolutely terrified. I’m 75 and also a retired nurse, (a little knowledge isn’t always best thing!) worried about my age etc. and afraid of the colonoscopy just as you are. I hadn’t had one in years because of my fear. Cat Scans are not nearly as reliable in finding small polyps etc, much better to have the colonoscopy.
I had mine last week and have to say it wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected and I wondered why I had been so afraid. I know they will take great care of you, and afterwards you’ll feel it wasn’t nearly as bad as you anticipated.
Mine revealed two small polyps which were removed, and I’m relieved that I went ahead and did it. I was also told that the Cologuard doesn’t reveal if it shows blood, mine just said it was positive, no further details are given.
anna7 Thank you, made me feel a lot better, I don't understand why
the nurse said blood, I am going to re-read her notes. you made me feel
better after I read your reply, My last one was 11 years ago.

Marcia , definitely re-read the notes and ask doctor if you have more questions.
When I went for my colonoscopy there were others there for the procedure who were 75 and over, some well into their eighties.
This is a great place to find support, please keep us posted on how things are going.
anna, I just looked at the cologuard results again---the top in green says negative with a
66% negative.
then below that is red says positive, 45% negative finding. no one has explained this
to me but the nurse just said they found blood. I wrote a note to my doctor thinking I should hear something today.
thank you for your support.

I had the same, my cologuard test came back positive, but I don't no
how to read it, the green line says negative with a % sign and below it
is the red line that says positive with a % sign, I just don't understand it,
how do you figure it out?
