Upcoming Thyroid surgery 4/11 Follicular Cancer 3.5 cm.
Hi, I am a 64 yr old woman who has had 4 neck surgeries (Cervical Myelopathy) was dx with Follicular Cancer, 3.5 cm left side w/intermediate density nodule w/coarse calcification. I also have Lupus, Hashimoto's ruled out. Anyone else have problems with scar tissue and difficult healing from a fused neck & Thyroid surgery?
Thanks Lori

Hi Lori..
I believe my neck movement is limited due to accessory nerve injury during surgery, and also the neck resection. Also I have had radiation for breast cancer and of course it shortens the muscle.. complicated. Gee.. I feel for you. How do you cope?
@planetsunrise, I take it one day at a time. My first neck surgery I was 39 years old, was told if I did not have the surgery would never walk again. Never had such pain in my life, was mad at the world & sadly God. Learned after the 3 other neck surgeries & 1 Lumbar 3/4 Laminectomy how Blessed I was/am, I can walk move. The reality is there are so many Children/young people who will never be able to walk/move. Saw a beautiful young teen girl in a wheelchair yesterday, every day I get affirmations how Blessed I am.
Prayers for you and the new path you have a head of you.
Lori
Thank you for that Lori ❤️
You are brave and a testament to all. We need to keep the faith and I know for me, I have come in contact with so many that are much worse and it’s heart breaking. Our positive mind set is paramount. I have finally been able to shed most of the anger.
Best to you!
I had to have my Thyroid surgery postponed due to serious blood issues, that came to light after an EDG w/severe bleeding due to a small ulcer. Seeing a Hematologist/Oncologist doing extensive blood work, to find out the cause and treatment so I will be safe to have surgery. They have ruled out Von Willebrand since I have Lupus, waiting to get results of mixing studies, anyone else experiencing something similar?
Thanks Lori
