I thought I was very fortunate to go to Mayo here in Phoenix. I had issues with one of my feet.
Got an appointment , meet the surgeon- felt confident he was a good surgeon, after all doesn't Mayo have the best.
Scheduled surgery- really wasn't very nervous.
Post -op was a nightmare. The block done in surgery didn't work. Recovery nurse did her best to control pain. She keep giving me pain medicine to control the pain. After several hours of excruciating pain- Anthesologist came in and said she didn't think the block worked and ask surgeon' s permission to her to give me a resume block. By that time I had broken out with hives. And keep throwing up.
Still nauseous and actively throwing up- they decided it was time for me to go home. On the way to the car, I threw up- nice transporter ran and got me more bags. Threw up just I I was getting in the car- and twice on the hour drive home.
After 7 months- and 9 weeks on a bone healing stimulator- I ,still complained of swelling and pain- they offered a CT scan. 15 percent fusion. I felt so disappointed- crushed . Surgeon said if it hadn't fused by then- it was not going to. So it would have to be redone. I was very nerous and about 2 weeks later I was scheduled for surgery. Post op was so much better- bareable pain. Stayed over night- Surgeon did not see ne pre-op, Post- op, not when I was discharge.
Now months later- I requested a CT scan- waiting for results----
I am about ready to lose my mind.
And believe I have an under laying condition.
After the 1st surgery did not work- absolutely no discussion as to why- or any test .
I wonder if Rodchester. MN would have been a better choice?

@az16, I can understand why you're nervous about the results of the CT scan. When will you meet with the surgeon to discuss the results fo the scan? Has your team suggested that you might have an underlying condition?
