Pancreatic Cancer warriors I hope you get great news like me
I’m feeling a lot better after confirming with my Oncologist yesterday about my MRI. It’s almost to good to be true that my cancerous cells have been reduced so much. My doctor confirmed what radiologist said that there was no discretely measurable mass identified.
I’ve been fighting Pancreatic cancer for two years and have done 42 treatments during this time. I’ll be continuing to have my treatments every two weeks and now know that they worth my time.
I will be having a CT scan on April 17th of my chest and abdomen to see if these areas are clean. At this time this is very encouraging and has my head in a different place from where it’s been for two long years.
I want to post to give all Pancreatic Cancer warriors the strength and knowledge that treatments work. I never thought I’d see theses results and had happy tears as it was surreal.

I now have a question. I am scheduled for Whipple surgery on June 8 after my 8th chemo infusion. After 4th chemo, my tumor somewhat shrank. So I just started to wonder if it's better for me to keep chemo a little longer rather than have the Whipple procedure since I know that my quality of life will go down after the Whipple.

My husband had 8 rounds of chemo from October to January. His tumor shrank a little and his CA-19 went from 1900 to 399. We moved forward with Whipple on February 14th after the 8th chemo. Post Surgery, his CA-19 went down to 14. Everyone is different however i want to share that by week 6 he started feeling better and now he is doing very well. Our oncologist recommends 4 additional chemo treatments once he is strong enough. We will meet this week for further discussion and make plans. 5 ReactionsWhat chemo are you doing? How are you tolerating side effects? Is the Whipple surgery an option for you?
I’m currently on FOLFIRI which get at the cancer center then I get hooked up with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) at home for 46 hours. My oncologist did mentioned surgery for the first time but didn’t go into details. I meet with him in May to get more details.
