GFR dropped 5 more points and I don't know why.

I recently experienced the same situation where my eGFR dropped 4 points in 2 months. I exercise 7 days a week, have a strict diet aligned to my CKD and lost 5 pounds (on purpose). My doc also feels it is a fluctuation that may be related to hydration related to my heart meds used to treat AFib. I drink 1.5 liters of water per day. I am getting retested in a week to see if this a one time event or a trend.

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 CKD in 2018 with a GFR of 15 and Creatinine of 3z8. I’m now at Stage 3b with a GFR of 42 and Creatinine of 1.77. I’ve found GFR is very susceptible to hydration levels, so I wouldn’t be overly concerned about a 4 point drop, especially if you’re hydrating well. My Nephrologist believes Creatinine is a much more reliable indicator than GFR. I drink 3L of water a day.
