What I do not understand about taking MSN is if it supports and modulates the immune response, how is this helpful if I am taking prednisone to suppress my overactive immune system? (Since I am a new member , I cannot post links to the research, but The National Library of Medicine has a study from 2017 explaining how MSN works -the biochemistry is beyond my understanding.)

@joycecosgrove, I noticed that you wished to post a URL to an article with your post. You will be able to add URLs to your posts in a few days. There is a brief period where new members can't post links. We do this to deter spammers and keep the community safe. Clearly the link you wanted to post is not spam. I have read the article and do understand most of it (I have a public health mycrobiologist background) and I would boil this down to MSM good for what ails us. I am gratified that the studies are catching up to what I have seen in my use with horses and dogs. Even is all you have is osteoarteritis (and who doesn't?), it is a good idea. It doesn't stimulate the immune system in a way that makes our condition worse. Thanks for finding that article. BTW: Anything that down regulates IL6 has got to help us as it seems to be one of cytokines that we make too much of.
