Anyone with colon cancer that has metastasized to the lungs?
My mother has colon cancer that has metastasized to her lungs. She has a terrible congested cough. Is there a way to help that? She’s also taking Braftovi orally and having infusions every other week. I feel like more could be being done for her. 🤷🏻♀️

1 ReactionI have the same issue but was recently diagnosed with what is most certainly colon cancer metastasis after resection and having chemo. I scheduled for a left upper lung lobectomy and I’m more scared now than I was when I had my bowel resection.
My Colon cancer was found one year ago and I had the resection surgery. All went well. I've had no problems other than continuing watery diarrhea.
At the time of the colon surgery, they were looking at a small Nodule on a CT scan and determined that it was impossible to biopsy in soft tissue at the bottom of the right lung.
So barely 7 weeks later, I had lung wedge resection surgery.
All went well again with no problems.
I would be honest and say that the lung surgery is the more painful of the two without question.
You come home and tough it out for awhile and all is good.
My colon doctor and my Lung doctor were both certain that all cancer had been removed in each surgery. And based on that, I decided on my own, to not be involved with any chemo. Yes, I am taking a risk.
So far, so good.
Realistically, it will probably catch up with me one day, but I'm 73 so it is what it is. I have no fear of dying.
did u have a colonoscopy ? how did they find it ? i was bleeding from my butt and went to the emergency room
i was wondering do you find chemo to be hard on you physically and mentally because i do.

1 ReactionMy colon cancer was found in one large polyp during colonoscopy.
9 inch sigmoid resection plus 1 lymph node, so stage 4, then lung and no other metastatic.
Both doctors, colon and lung, expressed confidence that all cancer was removed with each surgery. So I went with that and passed on chemo.
Next blood testing and CT Scan is April 27.
So far, so good.
Life is a gamble and I'm all in !
