Kisqali financial assistance -- subsidy
Is anyone in the US, on Medicare, receiving financial assistance with Kisqali? Different programs for those on group vs. Medicare.
Very expensive. My COBRA group coverage is paying 100% because I've met my out-of-pocket limit for the year, but that is ending soon. I'm going on Medicare as of 7/1/23 and the Kisqali copay will be about $1000/mo. Haven't talked to my oncologist yet. Looking at Novartis (manufacturer) and the Medicare subsidy signup form just to discuss wants me to check that I agree to repeated phone calls. Oh boy. Want to be sure I qualify for assistance before I do that. I have disability income so won't qualify if you need to be impoverished, but you all know cancer can certainly lead you to a financial crisis in time. Thanks for any suggestions.

I would definitely recommend talking to a social worker at your cancer center if you can. They can help you get some idea what you might or might be eligible for. There are sometimes grants available from other agencies as well as the manufacturer.
Is there a social worker or a nurse navigator you can talk to?
Good suggestions. I did have those contacts assigned early on in my treatment during surgery and radiation, but not at my current oncology office. I'll have seek out some current contacts. Thank you.
I am going to receive Kisqali for free from Novartis. My co pay from Medicare part D drug coverage was going to be $3,000 which I could never pay. The financial counselor in my oncologist office contacted Novartis for me . I had to submit my 2022 tax paperwork. Then Novartis sends it directly to me bypassing my drug plan.
That's great news! I hope my oncologist has someone as knowledgeable and helpful on staff. Thanks for sharing! It gives me hope!
Your oncologist's office will likely get you signed up...but you must present your last year's tax filing. For more information, try looking through this website:'https://www.us.kisqali.com/metastatic-breast-cancer/patient-support/support-services/
