I don't remember, I didn't read the whole article, but somewhere it said that with their meds they were doing great after the implant. Forget it, I have a pacemaker that works just fine without any meds for that at all.
Am I understanding the DBS implant to be the cure but people still have to take meds to make it work? Maybe that is only for Parkinson's people like Ketterer and his wife??
I had heard of the DBS before but thought it stopped the tremors w/o medicine for tremors.

I'm sorry I had to go look things up again, that was another article I read for Parkinson's Disease so the meds they mention in that were just to control other issues for PD patients.
this gave me so much hope, and comfort. It's from a link @reese1 gave me and I just snipped it so others wanting to wean off might be encouraged, and unafraid 🙂 Denise PS see pic below:
I have been diagnosed with functional tremors worse in my left hand and face twitch on the left
side of my face. I was originally diagnosed with essential tremors which has been ruled out. My motion specialist sent me for a DaTscan to rule out Parkinson which thankfully was negative.
I was prescribed Propanadol but had a bad side effect to it. I currently take Primidone which helps some. My doctor has suggested botox injections which I am considering. I hope you are able to get treatment to help.
My husband who had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease for 2 years at the age of 63 had all his symptoms reversed with Ayurveda medicine from natural herbs centre. com after undergoing their Parkinson’s natural protocol. God Bless all Parkinson’s Caregivers. Stay Strong, take small moments throughout the day to thank yourself, to love your self, and pray to whatever faith, star, spiritual force you believe in and ask for strength. I can personally vouch for these remedy but you would probably need to decide what works best for you.

I was sent to Mayo years ago because they thought I had Parkinsons. The diagnosis was "Functional movement disorder" They prescribed pramipexole (Mirapex) (a drug for Parkinsons) which has worked very well for me.
It is, however, one of the meds I'm very careful about never allowing myself to run out of. Once I went out of town and forgot all my meds. The tremors were absolutely terrible, but we were able to get hold of the pharmacist and transfer prescriptions on the second day.
I've no idea what it is that allows the diagnosis between Parkinsons and this disorder, but I'm very thankful for the meds.

This is an interesting read this a.m. because I never knew about a functional tremor, but an article I just now read told the difference between what my doctor calls mine, and ET (Essential tremor). I think it sounds more like the FT for one reason anyway, because I don't shake when I'm napping or sleeping at night, in a total state of relaxing my brain so to speak.
Thank you both for your replies @bonnieechismaar and your reply @annierae ! I'll be doing some online research today, and see what else I can find on it. The tremor has always gotten crazy worse when I get upset, or if I had to take an important test in a class, I literally could not sign my name, or write anything. My head shakes side to side, and my left hand is the worst but right hand gets shakey as well. I have to some time drink with a straw so I don't soak myself, and won't eat in public at all.

Would you be ok with telling me what herbs are in the protocol bonnie? I went to the site, but I don't want to give them my info until I look into the herbs first? Is your husband still on the protocol, and how long has he been on it now?
Thank you much for any help, you don't need to tell me how much etc. just the names of the herbs, no brands necessary 😉 Denise

Thanks much, I appreciate it. If I remember right, I totally forgot to put the link in but I really don't know, so again, thank you, Denise
