I had similar symptoms that kept me up hours during the night as many as four straight days.(I did not have seizures.) After a series of neurological tests, I was diagnosed with Myoclonus and prescribed Clonazepam to be taken before going to bed. It eliminated my symptoms and allows me to sleep. It may or may not apply to your situation; however, I thought I would mention it in case you wanted to discuss it with your doctor.
