@kayak461 Thank you for the reply. I read you blog from last May after your surgery. Your experience gives me hope that I can leave this behind and enjoy life without planning my day around where are the bathrooms located.
I assume you are still doing well after almost a year post surgery?

Yes, I’m doing well! I got up once last night to use the bathroom. My flow rate seems very good, sometimes it makes me smile because I feel so lucky about how it turned out. I stopped taking medication the day of surgery, I’m feeling great and I am very grateful for the outcome.

Hello, like Kayak461 I had HoLEP surgery a few years ago, in September 2020. In fact, my surgeon was Dr. Amy Krambeck, who is featured in the video shown in this blog. I had to have surgery due to severe urine retention which ultimately caused kidney damage and forced me to self-cath from when it was discovered in August 2020 until the surgery. Dr. Krambeck and her whole team were great, and the procedure completely solved my urination problem. Since it was a medical necessity, the whole procedure was covered by insurance. I live in MN and had not problem scheduled with Dr. Krambeck in Chicago. I have written a lot about my experience on this blog before, and you should be able to find that. If not, or if you have questions for me, feel free to ask. Best of luck.
