Hi. I’m having mine on May 11th and if you’re anything like me you’re reading everything you can get your hands on. Please try to see how much the success outweighs the failure, something I really had to focus on because I’m scared to death! I’ve spoken to many that have had it done, this includes family members, friends and many acquaintances that have had it done along with their family members. This really helped me look forward to having it done and getting rid of this pain that keeps me so restricted. Keep the positive outcomes in mind, such as I’ve learned to do. My best to your husband ❤️
.
My first knee replacement went terrible the dr put in 2-3 sizes too big which I found out he is aloud to do …. I suffered for a year …. Happy to say I had revision with another dr went amazing dr used mako robotic got right size I have full flexion and rom of 110-115….so best advice find surgeon who use robotic for surgery better results…..best of luck to you and your husband
Most work eventually
just have patience
do the PT, even at home
afterwards
give it 3 months or so
you will see slow but overall
improvements
in a years time he will have forgotten about it all
I had my right me done 6 weeks ago and the right knee is just great. My left knee is really bad and it's making the rehab harder.
So I am counting down the days till I can go and get the last one redone it's worth it.
Do the rehab before and after surgery it makes a big difference
@cookiepic The vast majority of knee replacements are successful! I have had both of my knees replaced, one year apart, and they work fine, no pain. I was back to normal by about 3 months after surgery.
Most of the people who come to post here have run into problems and are looking for help. There is always a small chance something may go wrong. Very few of the ones who have had successful results will bother to post. I came here before my surgery to find out also and was a bit concerned with all the negative results, but all went well! The key is working with PT seriously immediately after surgery so you don't lose range of motion.
