I'm worried about the side effects but supposed benefits to kidney and heart are all I read. - I'm going to ask for bloodwork after 30 days

@dextolen It's the trend that matters most with Farxiga and similar drugs. Perhaps a better outcome would be testing monthly for 3 months or longer rather than one time. My endocrinologist swears by Farxiga, but my bloodwork every 6 weeks showed differently as it relates to kidney disease with very little effect to A1C. The diabetic dose is 5mg while the kidney dose is 10mg. I was taking 5mg. Make sure to have the lab check for creatinine levels and/or eGFR as well.
