← Return to Low-grade fevers weeks after COVID: Is this common with long COVID?

Hello all, I’m glad to have found others experiencing similar issues (though I wish none of us needed to be here!). Otherwise healthy 40 year old male here, diagnosed with Covid for the first time in July 2022. Recovered (or so I thought) within about 10 days, with no more fever. About 2 weeks after that, caught another non-covid respiratory virus (RSV was going around at that point) which seemed to trigger all of this. I took about a month to “recover” from that, but the fevers never stopped. They would range from 99-103F (normal for me is 97ish), mostly beginning in the late afternoons and lasting through the night. I also started experiencing severe tinnitus and vertigo such that I couldn’t walk straight or safely drive. I also had extreme fatigue and low appetite. I started a diagnostic journey with my PCP, made two trips to the ER, saw an ENT multiple times, a vestibular specialist, and have been under the care of an infectious disease specialist as well. I’ve been poked, prodded, and scanned in every conceivable way, with no firm diagnosis. They’ve suspected everything from long Covid to lymphoma. My inflammatory markers were high at the start but slowly decreased over time. There was no evidence of active infection or disease of any kind. Though I never received a formal diagnosis, I believe it is long Covid (one doctor refused to diagnose as that, saying he felt it was just a “cop out” for doctors). From months 1-7 post-Covid, I ran fever most days. Some days, I felt like I was dying. Other days were ok. I worked a high stress job throughout, in person, but struggled. I took Tylenol and Advil for a while but eventually stopped, not wanting to damage my liver or kidneys from excessive use. For the last month or so, my fever had pretty much stopped. I was feeling better and like my old self and was thrilled, excited about going into spring and summer feeling good again. Now, I’ve caught another non-Covid respiratory bug (my kid has had it too), and the pattern has returned over the last few days. I’m devastated and can’t do another 6 month recovery period. I’m hoping this resolves. I’ve started taking vitamin C, and found that my vitamin D levels were critically low, so I’m taking that as well.
