@dextolen

54 yr old male, T2 25 years. Got my a1c from 11 to 5.5 or so for many years with various low carb, high fat diets. I've noticed that in my 50s I'm finding it harder not to fall off my diet and my a1c is slipping (6.3).

My Doc wants me on Farxiga but I see connections between Keto on sglt2s and ketacidosis. Yikes. So I'm going to go back to the old ADA low fat, high carb, reduced calorie diet until I see how this drug affects my numbers. I'm so out of practice , looking at Mediterranean influenced diet

@dextolen Be careful with Farxiga as there are side effects associated with this drug for some. I am both a type 2 with CKD stage 3. I found additional kidney issues where my eGFR was heading to Stage 4 on 2 occasions with the diabetic dose of 5 MG. I stopped taking the drug and my kidney function (eGFR) improved.

All that I've read from WebMD and Cleveland Clinic and mayo and some of the other Medical clinics and diet experts speak highly of the Mediterranean and I think that eating a lot of fruits and vegetables and the portioning fish chicken salmon all this types of things are good for you you like they say you can eat pretty much anything if you eat it in moderation and and Portion it right and my doctor keeps saying that 6.4 is under control and he doesn't even really want me to test
