This is such a helpful post. Thank you. I was diagnosed with triple negative stage 4 breast cancer this past December. My metastasis is a solitary nodule in my left lung and I've just gone through five treatments of pinpoint radiation on that which the doctor says will probably eradiate it. Regardless, the cancer is circulating in my bloodstream, though breast lymph nodes were clear on PET scan. Not high numbers, CA 27-29 of about 55, but it went up after my 4 cycles of Paclitaxel and Carboplatin as well as Keytruda which I just concluded, though the lung nodule shrank by about 20%. (Oncologist was hoping for 40%) Next week I'm due to start what they nickname the Red Devil along with more Keytruda. Anyway, the information on what you did for your mother is really helpful to me, especially since I now have absolutely no appetite. I recently bought a masticating juicer and have been having carrot and apple, and also green juices that I heard of elsewhere, but what you wrote here is especially promising. ("Can you put broccoli in a juicer, by the way? That works?) Aside from the info you gave on juicing and the muscadine extract (yes, that's very expensive!), I'm wondering, what solid food was your mother able to eat? It's been very difficult for me to find recipes that I can stomach, though I force-feed myself. Don't have much trouble with a certain dill salmon recipe, and also a few soups, but otherwise, it's been a real challenge. Anything you could tell me about what you did for your mother in terms of solid food would be a big help. Thanks so much for posting this. I'm sure many others have been helped as well.
jhefner, I forgot to tell you that my mom's MBC was ER+ and Her2+.
mycoolangel_thank you so much for sharing your mother's journey. Thank god she had you to figure out a path that has brought her to amazing health. Sometimes you need both conventional and alternative therapy to heal. You have proven how important it is to change your diet and put in your body what God has put on this earth. So many miss that important step or process when going through cancer treatment. God Bless you.
