That is how my polyneuropathy started, the weirdest feeling. The bottom of my toes started to get numb & the numbness progressed. After seeing 3 neurologists, going through lumbar MRIs, glucose tolerance test, autoimmune blood panel, vitamin blood panel - I am so darn healthy. I then did a genetic test which had 2 hits on only 1 gene out of the pair, so inconclusive. I did a family history, and my uncle has similar symptoms - we suspect hereditary - not much more to do than treat the symptoms. I've gone thorugh a ton of PT, wear great shoes - took a year to adapt/accept this condition. Sucks - former ski patroller, scuba diving instructor, hike/bike - but, this is my journey and I'm doing the best I can. Good luck, keep investigating, keep asking "what else could it be".

Thank you for the information. I can't find anyone that knows what is causing it. I'm suffering with you as well as countless people. Soaking my feet in ice water helps with the burning. If i don't drink coffee in the morning helps with the swelling. Stay strong. If we can suffer with this condition, it shows we are strong people.
Thanks,
