Help Paying for Chemo: Financial assistance programs
Can anyone share a success with finding help paying for chemo drugs? FYI my wife will start Kadcyla shortly? Thanks.

I know one success story personally. It isn’t this drug but her story might very well be of benefit to you.
@gingerw got some help with an oral chemo drug.
I also found this page about help with Kadcyla specifically.

Have you looked into any local resources for help with this drug?
Thnaks so much @auntieoakley. I though you might come through for us!
Yes, I have contacted the social worker for the Medical Business we have been working with. Still waiting for a call back. I have quite a ways to go before I get through all these phone calls. I'll try to share for others what I find.
Best, Tim
@auntieoakley @timbrownfl I was going to post the same link as you, auntie oakley!
Also, here is a link to a company that can assist someone in converting a life insurance policy to help pay for co-pas: https://www.welcomefunds.com/patient-assistance-for-kadcyla-costs.html.
Here from Drugs.com is some information: https://www.drugs.com/price-guide/kadcyla
From Genetech Oncology, is this information: https://www.copayassistancenow.com/
I am on an oral chemo for multiple myeloma, and get assistance from the manufacturer's patient assistance foundation, which I need to qualify for each calendar year. Having health issues are bad enough. Needing to find resources for help with funding treatments just adds to our stress, don't you think?
Ginger
@timbrownfl, many pharmaceutical companies have patient financial assistance programs, such as @auntieoakley and @gingerw have linkied to. For help to complete the forms or for additional resources, I also suggest that your sister talk with an oncology social worker. They are simply amazing.

Hi @colleenyoung. The Oncology Social Worker at UFHealth where we are was unable to help at all. I have contacted Genentech, however, the maker of Kadcyla, the drug my wife will be getting, and have started their application process.
I will check that link.
Thanks very much.
I started on Kadcyla and the maker of this drug sent a lot of info including http://www.copayassistancenow.com: GenentechPatientFoundation.com, to get your medicine free, if you’re eligible. Also check all the cancer organizations and support groups.
Great info. I have already applied at Genentech, and it does look promising. We'll see. I hadn't thought of the other two. I will look now though.
Thank you very much!
I also needed assistance. The social workers at my oncology office helped me with an application directly through the hospital and I applied and got 100 percent of the balance of my medical bills covered,. I would inquire about what the hospital offers, they all have programs that may help you. Never be afraid to ask. They don’t always tell you what is available. They wait to see what insurance covers first.
Your very welcome
