I do have Voltaren 1% gel and am looking into the 8% cream. I wonder which is more effective, or if there is any difference.

There’s a very significant difference. I believe Voltaren is diclofenac but the otc cream isn’t nearly as strong (1% vs 8%). I’m in Canada & need a prescription for the 8% ointment. I find it very helpful & it works to reduce pain:m/discomfort within minutes for me. I hope it might be helpful to you as we.

I know how really painful & sensitive that bruised area on my leg was for me. Mine didn’t last as long as yours has (I don’t think) but I was really grateful to get relief. It seemed to be worse at night. Really glad that’s over. I’m almost 8 weeks post-surgery now & doing pretty well. Largely doing everything I need to & getting on with life. Planning for the second surgery to get the other knee done. Not looking forward but I know it will be better & after 2 or 3 wks the worst should be over. Best wishes to you.
